Gloria & Guillermo are the proud recipients of the first Day 1 Grant created by Day 1 Fertility.
Apart from the $5,000 financial support, the Day 1 Grant offers coaching services to help grant recipients navigate their fertility journey.
10% of proceeds from Day 1 Fertility go towards the Day 1 Grant to help individuals or couples who hope to build their families through assisted reproduction. Day 1 believes in selecting applicants who are diverse in terms of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, and medical history.
Gloria & Guillermo’s Testimonial:
On February 14th, 2020, Guillermo and I made an important decision: we were ready to become parents. Full of hope and love, we embarked on this journey, believing that soon we would have a baby in our lives. However, after several months of trying without success, we decided to visit our family doctor to make sure everything was okay.
The results came back, and while my tests showed everything was fine, Guillermo’s results revealed some challenges. That day marked the beginning of a path filled with obstacles, adjustments, and lessons. Since then, we’ve made significant changes in our lives and habits, striving to give our best to achieve our most cherished dream: becoming parents.
It hasn’t been easy. We discovered that when infertility issues come from the man, the resources and options available are much more limited. In 2023, we underwent our first IVF treatment, but it was unsuccessful. Since that moment, we’ve devoted all our income to improving our health and our bodies, hoping to succeed naturally. Despite our efforts, we still haven’t achieved our dream.
This process is emotionally exhausting. Doctors tell us we’re young and healthy but fail to provide clear answers. The words that should inspire hope sometimes extinguish our faith, especially when we’re urged to hurry before it’s too late to conceive.
It’s hard to face questions like, “When is it your turn?” while watching those around us announce pregnancies and build their families. Our answer has always been, “Soon,” but behind that word lies a sea of emotions.
Today, we’re filled with hope after being selected by the Fertility Friends Foundation. Their support means more than words can express. They gave us strength, faith, and the opportunity to keep moving forward on this journey.
