Both having grown up with large extended families, we always imagined having a large family of our own. We married in 2023 and started trying for children nearly right away. In the meantime, we enjoyed our newly-wed life: travelling, going on outdoor adventures, and building a life we loved together.
However, after several months of trying to conceive with no success, we began to realize the path to family-building was not going to be as easy as we had first assumed. We felt something was off and started fertility testing. As many other couples can attest, infertility brings an immense amount of heartbreak and hardships, both emotionally and financially.
We are currently two years, one surgery, and several rounds of IUI into our journey. Through it all, we have leaned on our friends, family, and faith. Despite the winding path we unexpectedly find ourselves on, we trust that there is a plan for us and that our little family of two will one day grow.
We are exceedingly grateful for the Fertility Friends grant and the donors who make such opportunities possible.Through this financial support, we are able to move on to the next stage of our fertility journey much sooner than anticipated, as we plan for IVF. Beyond the financial aspect, being recipients has also renewed our hope and reminded us of the kindness you can find all around you.
