Our journey toward building our family has been shaped by who we are: queer, trans, and Indigenous.
From the moment we decided to pursue fertility treatment, we knew it would require intention, courage,
and the kind of determination that comes from wanting something with your whole heart. Over the years,
we’ve faced setbacks that remind us how emotionally and financially overwhelming this process can be,
yet we continued moving forward, saving what we could and holding onto our dream of becoming
parents.
Receiving this grant lifts a weight we have carried for a long time. It allows us to step into the next stage
of IVF with hope instead of hesitation and with the steadiness that comes from knowing our stories, like
so many others, is seen. This support brings us closer to the future we’ve always imagined: a home where
our children grow up surrounded by community, safety and love. We are profoundly grateful.
