Our journey toward building a family has been shaped by both our love and the many challenges we’ve faced as an LGBTQIA+ immigrant couple. When we arrived in Canada 15 years ago, we carried with us the hope of creating a safer and more inclusive future. Still, starting over in a new country meant rebuilding every part of our lives from the ground up.
Navigating fertility options as two women, balancing financial barriers, supporting our immediate families back home, and trying to understand a complex system has often felt overwhelming. But through every difficulty, our commitment to growing our family has only grown stronger.
Our dream of becoming parents comes from the life we’ve shared for more than two decades and the home we’ve built with love here in Canada. Sharing our story isn’t always easy, but we hope it shows that every family no matter their identity or background, deserves the chance to grow.
Thank you, FFF, for your support. Your grant brings us one step closer to our dream and gives us hope in a journey that hasn’t always been easy. Your generosity not only lifts us up, it affirms that love and family come in many beautiful forms.
Warmest Regards
Mar and Lovey
