Rose & Julie are recipients of Fertility Friends Foundation’s Dr. Shannon Corbett 2SLGBTQ+ Fertility Fund. This fund was created in memory of Dr. Shannon Corbett who was an unwavering beacon of hope, expertise, and support through every patient’s care. Her life’s mission as a physician was to support individuals from the 2SLGBTQ+ community in realizing their aspirations of forming their own families. The establishment of this fund is meant to ensure that Dr. Corbett’s life mission continues on for many years to come.
Rose & Julie’s Testimonial:
As we both work in the arts, it has taken us longer to reach the kind of personal and financial stability needed to create a family.
We started our fertility journey in 2022, and after seven unsuccessful rounds of IUI, we remain hopeful that we can start our family through IVF.
Our journey is also complicated by living in rural Newfoundland, in a province with only one fertility clinic and no IVF clinics, requiring lots of time, money and energy to travel long distances for every test and treatment.
We are so grateful to the Fertility Friends Foundation, and all of its supporters and staff, for creating such a generous and well-supported program to help people build their families.
We are especially honored to have received our grant through the Dr. Shannon Corbett 2SLGBTQ+ Fertility Fund. We look forward to raising our future child with curiosity, creativity, and love.
