Fertility Friends Foundation offers grants to cover expenses associated with assisted reproduction such as IVF, egg and sperm donation, and gestational surrogacy in Canada.

FERTILITY GRANTS OFFERED
In vitro fertilization (IVF)
In vitro fertilization is a process where an egg is combined with sperm in vitro. IVF is the most effective form of assisted reproductive technology.
Egg and Sperm Donation
Donor sperm and ova (eggs) are sperm and ova that are intended for use in
Gestational Surrogacy
Gestational surrogacy is a process where one person, carries a fetus through pregnancy and gives birth to a baby for another person or couple.
WE DO NOT COVER EXPENSES FOR:
Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
During the FET cycle, your embryos are thawed and placed into your uterus. This is done at a time in your menstrual cycle that best supports a pregnancy.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a simple procedure that puts sperm directly inside your uterus, which helps healthy sperm get closer to your egg.
Egg Freezing Sperm Freezing
Fertility preservation is saving or protecting eggs, sperm, or reproductive tissue so that a person can use them to have a child later on in life.
Fertility medication
Fertility medication is medication used in the process of infertility and is needed to help with preparing the body for fertility treatment.
Eligibility criteria for Fertility Friends Foundation applicants:
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and reside in Canada. Applicants must have a medical diagnosis of infertility certified in writing by a medical provider with the following exceptions:
1. Applicants who are members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community
2. Applicants who are single

- Applicants must have seen a Reproductive Endocrinologist within the previous 6 months.
- All applicants must not have a medical condition that would pose a serious risk to themselves or, in the case of females, the child they would carry (e.g. active acute infections).
- All applicants must possess the means to offer continued child support (at least one partner must maintain employment).
- Grant Applicants must be patients of a Fertility Clinic located in Canada. Grants will exclusively be disbursed to Canadian Fertility Clinics.
- Recipients must begin treatment within 6 months after receiving the grant.
Clinical criteria for grant applicants:
Applicants MUST be between 18 and 50 years of age.
- Heterosexual couples MUST meet the ASRM definition of infertility
Same sex couples only:
Same sex females: MUST have completed 6 IUI cycles unless other diagnosis of infertility has been made.
THE DAY 1 GRANT
in partnership with Fertility Friends Foundation
Day 1 Fertility is excited to share, Day 1 Grant, where Day 1 Grant reciepents will recive $700 worth of mindset coaching in addition to the benefits given to Fertility Friends grants. Day 1 believes in selecting applicants who are diverse in terms of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, and medical history.
Dr. Shannon Corbett 2SLGBTQ+ Fertility Fund
in partnership with Fertility Friends Foundation
This fund was created in memory of Dr. Shannon Corbett who was an unwavering beacon of hope, expertise, and support through every patient’s care. Her life’s mission as a physician was to support individuals from the 2SLGBTQ+ community in realizing their aspirations of forming their own families. The establishment of this fund is meant to ensure that Dr. Corbett’s life mission continues on for many years to come.
Lucy of Anishinaabe Fertility Grant
in partnership with G. Scott and Sarah Paterson.
This grant has been made possible by Sarah Paterson, great granddaughter of Lucy who decided to give her name to the Grant. Lucy’s story is one of courage and strength, as she persevered through the atrocities of the residential school system.
Through this grant, we carry forward the spirit of empowerment that has been passed down through generations, ensuring that Lucy’s legacy lives on in the lives of those who are privileged to assist.
Not My Tummy Surrogacy Grant
This grant is dedicated to individuals or couples who are going through a surrogacy journey. In addition to receiving a Fertility Friends Foundation $5,000 grant, grant recipients going through a surrogacy journey will automatically enter a chance to get the Not my Tummy Grant including the following:
A $5,000 grant for surrogacy-specific clinic costs (Health Canada donor screening, surrogate medical screening, surrogate and/or intended parent psychological screening, mock cycle costs, costs associated with an embryo transfer to a surrogate)
1 Not My Tummy Custom DIY Matching Roadmap ($1000 Value) or equivalent value towards another NMT service
All applicants will be reviewed by Fertility Friends Foundation’s medical and financial committees.
