Functional Nutrition
This type of nutrition is a framework whereby the client (or patient) works closely together with the integrative nutrition practitioner, namely a functional nutritionist, to achieve optimum health through various nutritional interventions.
The key component of the approach is the focus on the person rather than the disease.
Functional nutrition is:
✓ fully personalized
✓ client-centred
✓ science-based
✓ concerned with biological systems
✓ involves the analysis of symptoms to address primary health problems
✓ centres around the root cause of dysfunction
✓ focused on prevention
✓ designed to correct imbalances
✓ includes an educational component
✓ may involve functional testing
Michelle Strong, RHN
Michelle is a Registered Nutritionist and founder of myMindBodyBaby, an online space that educates, advocates and supports couples on their path to baby.
Michelle’s personal fertility journey spanned 2 years. After realizing her family dreams, Michelle felt compelled to bring more support to the fertility community – something that she felt was greatly lacking during her own fertility journey. This was the catalyst for myMindBodyBaby and the Strong Fertility method – an evidence-based, individualized program designed to help couples optimize various lifestyle parameters and improve their chance of pregnancy in both natural and treatment cycles.
Michelle is active on social media, educating and inspiring those who are trying to conceive, on the incredible impact lifestyle change can have on fertility outcomes. She also works 1:1 with couples and individuals needing personalized fertility programs.
