Since we started dating in 2018, we always knew that one day we’d like to be parents. As members of the LGBTQ community, we knew that our journey to fatherhood would require time, patience and a re-evaluation of our finances.
We started our fertility journey in February 2024, and the road has been a long one. While there have been moments of excitement, there have also been many challenges and bumps in the road. One of our biggest concerns has been around finances as we have been anxious in regard to how we can afford the cost of egg donors, embryo creation/transfers, surrogates and legal/medical costs. In October 2025, we were finally able to secure suitable egg donors from a Cypriot agency. While this was such a celebratory milestone, we know that we still have a long road ahead of us.
We are so immensely grateful to be recipients of the fall 2025 grant. We are thankful to Fertility Friends Foundation for helping us make the cost more manageable and being a part of our story. We hope that this will help us achieve our goals in starting our long-awaited family.
