We have been married since 2013 and always dreamed of building a family together. After moving to Canada, our focus was on settling into a new country, establishing our careers, and creating a stable future. Once we felt ready, we began trying to start a family.

For the past two years, we have been on a fertility journey filled with hope, disappointment, and many difficult decisions. After exploring our options, we learned that IVF would be our best path forward. In addition, we require specialized genetic testing as part of our treatment, which adds significant costs to an already expensive process.

As newcomers to Canada, balancing the financial realities of building a life here while planning fertility treatment has been challenging. The emotional stress and uncertainty of not knowing what the future holds can sometimes feel overwhelming.

We have not yet started treatment and are preparing for our first IVF cycle. While we know the road ahead may not be easy, we remain hopeful and committed to our dream of becoming parents.

Receiving support through the Fertility Friends Foundation grant and the PGT-M Access Fund has helped ease some of the financial burden and given us encouragement as we take this important next step.

We are grateful for the support and hopeful for the future.
